ONE FLESH

When God says that He joins a man and woman together as one flesh...HE MEANS IT! It isn't a romantic notion or poetry...IT IS REALITY! You can not separate ONE FLESH! For example: Take two separate pieces of paper, glue them together to make one. Then try to separate the one into two again. Even if you get it "separated" there will be holes and tears in each half! There will be pieces of each, left on the other! You might have "separated" them, but they WILL NEVER BE WHOLE, SEPARATELY AGAIN, and THEY WILL ONLY FIT TOGETHER AGAIN...WITH EACH OTHER!

We have been asked: "What about a wife in an abusive situation? Surely God doesn't want her to stay in it! He would want her to divorce the bum and move on with her life!"

Let's see what God's Word says: "A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives." I Corinthians 7:39 ~~~ "To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And the husband must not divorce his wife." I Corinthians 7:10 & 11 ~~~ "All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation..." 2 Corinthians 5:18 ~~~ As we can see, God wants RECONCILIATION to be our ministry, even if a time alone is needed in the warfare!
