DIVORCE IS A HEART ISSUE!!!
We, as Christians, have raised our fists up to God Almighty and have defiantly proclaimed to Him... "I AM NOT HAPPY!" ~~~ "GOD WILL FORGIVE ME FOR THE DIVORCE!" ~~~ "I DESERVE MORE OUT OF LIFE THAN THIS!" ~~~ "I WANT OUT!" ~~~ "I ASKED GOD TO FORGIVE ME FOR THE DIVORCE, SO NOW I CAN MOVE ON WITH A NEW LIFE!"
Jesus said in Matthew 19:8 & in Mark 10:5 that it was because of their HARD HEARTS that Moses wrote them the law. Well, under our NEW, Perfect COVENANT, covered by the BLOOD of Jesus, that causes Jesus to live WITHIN us...WE HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR HARD HEARTS! A hard heart means REBELLION TOWARDS GOD and UNFORGIVENESS! If there is forgiveness, you will NOT find a hard heart!
"But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Matthew 6:15 ~~~ "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." Mark 11:25 ~~~ "Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Colossians 3:13
How many divorces would there be if we really obeyed these Scriptures?
See, divorce is a "heart" issue - not a "lust" issue or a "mid-life crisis" issue, etc. - those are only SYMPTOMS of the heart, NOT the root! This is why the devil has been able to use "adultery" as a LIE and a SMOKE SCREEN for divorce, and the church has swallowed it hook, line and sinker!!! "...do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion..." Hebrews 3:8 "...REPENT! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall." Ezekiel 18:30 "If you REPENT, I will restore you that you may serve me..." Jeremiah 15:19 ~~~ "REPENT, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out..." Acts 3:19
Repentance means to have a change of heart...To do an about face! There is no way that a person can truly REPENT from their sin and yet go on with their OWN plans! That contradicts itself! Repentance is not saying, "Sorry, God", and then going on with your life. That kind of thinking is "sanctifying sin"...which God WILL NOT do! Repentance is truly knowing that you have been WRONG and then TURNING AWAY from the sin and SUBMITTING to GOD'S PLAN and HIS WORD! Repentance is having a TOTAL CHANGE OF HEART from what YOU had!
WHEN WE REPENT, THEN WE WILL FIND GOD'S FORGIVENESS!!!
